Interlübke @ Milan Fair 2010.

Interlübke’s display was beautiful as always. They were the most conceptual and pretty display in the last two international fairs I’ve visited. Amazing how they send the message so well with their fitted furniture, which can be used in any space, whether residential or commercial.

Music was the theme, but more than that I like the colour message: Golden Age is really back, and I’m loving it so much - in every sense of the word, actually.

This is a great photo, isn't it?

Please click here to see their stand in Germany last January. My post is more informative and you can see how versatile a fitted brand can be.

Edra @ Milan Fair 2010.

Silver? Forget silver! We are back in the Golden Age.

Edra is more than a furniture company: It is an Art Design Brand.

My favorite chair by Campana Brothers – love this golden finish. It's amazing the way this duet translate via design the Brazilian culture.

Check Edra’s Museum.

Missoni @ Milan Fair 2010.

I've no words to introduce Missoni. It's such a unique brand.
Whether we're looking at a dress or a chair by this ultra chic brand, we know straight away its pedigree.
Fabric colours and textures say it all - we can feel it.
Indulge yourself with the Missoni world.

Kenzo @ Milan Fair 2010.

In case I didn’t have the opportunity to say how much I love Japanese design & architecture, I then take this opportunity to say so.

It’s amazing the way it celebrates so well colour & forms. Its simplicity is outstanding. I don’t think anyone can celebrate aesthetics so beautifully.

Spaces are poetic and delicate, although engaging.
Colours are always rich but with a very calming message.
Forms very rectilinear yet quite inviting.

Kenzo stand was closed to general public. Only with invitation you could get in, reason why I don’t have many photographs. Next year I will make sure I’ll get one. But for now, enjoy. Get inspired.

Somewhere @ Milan Fair 2010.

I'm afraid I can't remember the name of this stand. Actually, I didn't even looked for its name. What really grabbed my eye and important at that very moment was its composition - the light was perfect and the Platner armchairs were beautifully displayed, as if they were somehow lost in space waiting to be replaced.

The raspberry shade was so intense you couldn't just walk away without recording it.

Gandia Blasco is a Spanish outdoor furniture company which has been leaving their stamp all over the world since 1941. In 1996 they launched the first outdoor furniture collection. You can find it in hotels, restaurants and cafés, gymnasiums, beach clubs, private houses and in very particular space like the Hugo Boss Showroom in Firenze, Italy.

Giorgetti @ Milan Fair 2010.

Giorgetti is this type of furniture you either love or hate. You won’t be indifferent to it. The brand breaths luxury to its highest level. Everything is detailed, chairs are austere and you won’t sink on a sofa to watch your favorite show – you just seat on it to indulge yourself as if you’re driving a Maserati.

I find Giorgetti perfect for hotels (5 stars or above of course), high profile offices, home offices and for a social living room.

Love the vertical lines on this sofa.

All their furniture forms follow round shapes making the furniture extremely inviting.

Another brand giving touches in red – It is indeed a colour to bear in mind for 2010.

Beautiful corner, isn’t it?

I reckon this is not the best photograph I’ve ever taken, but I want to illustrate here my point that this is a great brand if you’re specifying a CEO office or maybe an attorneys firm. What do you think?

Minotti @ Milan Fair 2010.

Minotti had indeed one of the most beautiful showrooms in the Milan Fair. Very clean with a touch of retro yet quite elegant. They've lounged a beautiful collection called Senza Tempo – Timeless – composed by Andersen sofa, Brooks armchair, Case armchair, Clyfford table, Harvey cabinets, Johns bookshelves, Loving armchair, Luggage sofa, Parker armchair and footstool and Parrish coffee table. Together with their dark browns & greys they have added dark turquoise & dark red. Enjoy.

“Senza Tempo is a combination of memory of the past, outcome of the present and boost for the future.”

It’s details like this one that makes Minotti one of the most interesting furniture companies to work with.

Collection coordinated by Rodolfo Dordoni.

As soon as I get the fabric pallets they’ve lounged this year, I will post them. They’re a beautiful combination of amazing textures in quite interesting colours.

From: Milan. To: London

Just arrived in London. As the world knows, European airports’ are closed. Last Thursday my 7.15am flight took off. Apparently only four flights were allowed to (and mine got a lucky star), as the north of Europe was being invaded by this massive volcanic ash cloud.

My trip to Milan supposed to be 3 days to explore and enjoy the most wanted furniture exhibition in the world. Plans have changed: Saturday at 8am we all took a mini bus to London. 15 hours drive: good fun, great views.
In one day I had breakfast in Italy, break in Switzerland, lunch in France and a very late dinner in London: couldn’t be more international.

I’ve spent one day and a half in the fair and one afternoon in Milan city centre visiting all possible furniture shops and other venues where we could find the latest collections and what’s trendy in our world. Sadly I didn’t photograph a few brands I was looking for, as I tend to leave for last the best, but I will definitely post about it.

I'm off to edit my photography gallery.
Stay tuned.
