Wei Wang and Luxury Evening Bags.

Bags. Don't we all love them? Don't we all have lots of them? Don't we all want more of them? Don't they all tell different stories? I think YES. And I think I would love to exhibit one of these in a special occasion.

A couple of weeks ago I found the amazing work by Wei Wang. She just finished her Masters in Fashion Artefact at London College of Fashion which exhibition happened early this month.

Let me know if you have a favourite one.

Designer's own words -
"In accessory production, there is always a big concern of leveraging a product’s materials onto its functions. In terms of fashion and luxury design, I find that there are two levels of product’s functions. The first level is the product’s basic usage function; the second level is the product’s social and culture roles.

My project is luxury design of evening bag. I attempt to develop a real breakthrough in the design of luxury evening bags based on three aspects: first, thoroughly changing the firm belief and idea of evening bag’s material, which supposed to be soft and easy to carry; second, emphasising the cultural function of an evening bag; third, making efforts to inject new and vibrant elements into fashion design. As a small but important fashion icon, an evening bag’s beauty/characterised function is more important. I am considering something unique, elegant, with a collectable value adding to the mysterious character to the evening bag. Therefore, the idea of Chinese Ceramics comes to my mind. In this project, my collection is a series of evening bags made of Chinese ceramics."

Decaying Façade.

Totally inspired by Ana Ventura and Whils' art, I started looking at decaying façades with different eyes. This week, as I was driving in a small town, this under layer of paint grabbed my attention which somehow looks life a rabbit. Can you see it too?

Have a nice week.

The seventies, Florence And The Machine and the movie Casablanca have been named as Frida's inspiration. It's indeed a great collection were wide trousers, dark yet bold colours and two bags make the wishful outfit. I could have it all - I see myself in every moment of this runaway show. Do you?

Next Fall it's going to be an happy season.

I Have Always Known.

To personalize things is one of my favorite hobbies, if that actually exists in my daily routine (hobby, I mean).
Generally, posters are my favorite canvas. Like I did with “Keep Calm” I couldn’t resist to do something with this one by Row Boat Press.

Do you like to personalize things or do you rather have them original?

Fabulous Documents.

There's always someone with a word to say about my pen drive, my sparkling little object.

I love it. Totally covered in crystals (not Swarovski I guess) it flashes everywhere.

Sorry for the unfocused image, but to photograph crystal is quite tricky.

Camilla Watson Printing On Lisbon Walls.

"My images remain focused on people though today with a stronger emphasis on community; along with exhibiting in accessible and often outdoor spaces which are integral to the community"

Camilla is an English photographer and has been living in Lisbon now for 4 years. Her work can be seen in several streets in Mouraria, a beautiful and one of the oldest neighborhoods in the capital.

Clutch - An Object Of Art.

Some argue fashion is not art. Others think it is. I believe it is not, but object like clutches (pochette like the French say) have me wonder where exactly the boundary's drawn.

When Alexandre McQueen designed the first one of this range (which I saw in display in Harrods), I remember to tell a friend how that little shiny object with a skull as if it was the cherry on top of the cake had such huge impact on me. The only thing she said was "Go buy it". I didn't. Today every time I see one, I wonder if Luiza was right about the investment I should have done.

When you buy designers clothes or accessories, do you question the (financial) investment you're probably doing?

Happy Valentine's Day.

As the Chinese say 'The faintest ink is better than the best memory'.

You call someone and then you hang up. It’s gone! Pufff! You can’t frame a phone call.

Send a telegram. Yes, an old fashion written message. These ones you can frame. They’re forever.

Scratching The Surface | VHILS

A few months ago I was researching online a few Street Artists and bumped into Alexandre Farto (aka Vhils) work. Fell in love with it straight away. I'm not sure if it's the scale, the façade in decadence or the subtleness of his creations, but something strong yet simple about it dragged totally my attention.

A couple of weeks, maybe a month later I went for dinner with a friend, and because women has always loads to talk about, my friend and I continue to chat, after hours in a restaurant, next to our cars. Suddenly I look up and see that man's face, the one I saw on my computer screen but now LIVE! I stopped listen to Isabel and smiled. Instead of walking towards the wall, I walked away from it to focus that amazing portrait craved on what once was an indoor wall. A momentum of happiness, discover, a conquest I believe.

I am so proud of having his work in my city. I am so proud he is Portuguese. And I am so proud I found it.

The Cup Of Tea.

For some time I've been flirting with this beautiful piece of art. I'm not sure if it's the form or colour hue, but something very special about this cup makes me wonder how much more special my evening cup of tea is going to be.

I guess this Friday is the day I'm buying my first one. First because I want one each colour.

The Importance Of Having A Comfy Sofa.

After my car broke this evening on my way home, the only thing I could imagine (and wish) was to seat comfortably on my couch and relax. Nothing worst than waiting for a taxi in the middle of a super busy motorway, though it's moments like this one we really appreciate how special and important our space is in our lives, don't you agree?

Have A Nice Week.

This weekend I've spent my time with friends by the beach and in Lisbon enjoying what's best out there. Sun and blue skies have been part of the scenario. It's been a great time to catch up not only with friends but with magazines and newspaper I've been pilling up lately. What a joy.

With Monday around the corner, I would like to wish you all a nice (and shiny) weekend.

A moment in Lisbon.

Vroom Vroom By Lorenzo Quinn.

Lorenzo Quinn’s monumental sculpture Vroom Vroom was installed on 23 January in the central reservation on Park Lane opposite The Dorchester, as part of Westminster Council’s Sculpture Festival.

Lorenzo Quinn - "Vroom Vroom" from Halcyon Gallery on Vimeo.

Vroom Vroom is a vintage Fiat 500, the first car that the sculptor has, handled by a child’s hand build under the references of the
author’s son. The work is an installation allusive to the relationship between parents and sons.
Quinn express the meaning of this work in his artistic career: “Vroom Vroom symbolizes part of my independence, my freedom and
my personal growth. This was the first car I bought with the money I made in my firsts jobs. It was very difficult to obtain it but when I
bought it I felt released. I had achieved something very desired and what is more important I have buy it with my own efforts. I didn’t depend on my parents any more, I was an adult”
