Architectural Fragments.

To wrap up my year-in-pictures-uploaded-on-Facebook nothing better that posting architectural details I've been collecting in 2010.

Something that I like to do, specially when I visit a city for the first time, is to admire these massive structures and wonder what kind of stories they carry. Who designed them? Who lived there? What was the architect and designer thinking when he or she draw it? How many men and women worked on it? What other people see in it? What's going to happen to it in one hundred years time?

Architecture is the museum of each city.
It's possible to never feel alone in a city. These spaces are the soul of it and part of us too.

Calatrava's structure in Oriente Station, Lisbon.

Vasco da Gama Bridge, the longest bridge in Europe and ninth longest in the world.

Traditional Portuguese Architecture, always embellished with balustrades in iron.

The Gibson Hall, venue to Gensler Black + White Auction, London.

Roman Ruins, Évora.

A piece of reinforced concrete on a castle wall, Beja (I call it installation on a castle wall)

And an urban bench. Don't we all love them? Aren't they so poetic? Romantic?

Do you spend time admiring architectural fragments in the city you live in?

Love For Storytelling.

Visual Merchandising. For others Windows Design. For me Fragment of Stories. Well, they are all the same, aren't they?
Windows are the business card of any shop. They invite you to come in, to spend money but above all they make you dream as if you're in a tale. I can spend days admiring these galleries of art.

The following ones are the best windows I've seen during 2010.

Windows from Lisbon, London and New York.

When Was The Last Time You Went For A Ride?

Looking back to all the pictures I've uploaded on my Facebook this year, these two are probably my favorite ones. They transmit that sense of "moment", nothing too long, just a moment. In the end of the day, a photograph is exactly that, probably even less than a moment, but a fragment of a moment.

These two were shot in different moments of my life: the first I was working around 10 hours a day (not counting the other 14 thinking about work) and the second one I was enjoying cosmopolitan Lisbon, though they both made me wander, what if I went for a ride?

Don't forget to go for a ride once in a while in 2011.

When Was The Last Time You Went For A Discover?

VW Kombi is a hot subject on my photo archive. They combine so much things I love in cars and other vehicles: form, color, small & compact spaces and freedom. I couldn't live in one for sure, but that adventure they can provide on a short break or even on a weekend is refreshing, specially if you have a demanding job.

Break the routine | Be creative | Enjoy simple moments in 2011

So, when was the last time you went for a discover? Any good plans for 2011?

When Was The Last Time You Just Went For A Drive?

Continuing the "project" on posting images I've been taking with my iPhone this year, here's my favorite vintage cars, another form of space.

I've always had an admiration for these ones. Colors were bold, daring, lines curved enough to make them different and unique. Stylish! Full of character! A must have!

All of them were photographed in London.

The title of this post is the slogan for one of the most interesting commercial by Volkswagen Golf. See it here.

Fashion Fragments Of 2010.

It's impossible not to think fashion if you live in a city like London. It is absolutely everywhere, and we all love it, don't we?
Here's my favorite moments of thinking fashion.

1 - Britannia Skull Clutch by Alexandre McQueen: Only this object could make me carry a flag around town.
2 - Canvas Mini Shopper poppy by Céline: Fell in love with this bag on the spot and when I saw it in bright blue in NYC almost had a thing!
3 - My personal collection: They're objects of decoration too.
4 - On a Parisienne mood: The cutest T I have.
5 - The beauty of traditional object: Eclectic is always th choice.

I wish for us all a super stylish 2011.

Talk To Me

Talk to me. This is probably the sentence which best describes myself.

I love to talk and I love to go to Talks. Lots to learn, lots to think and lots to share.

The Victoria & Albert Museum in London organizes the best ones. With a very dynamic approach, they engage history and contemporary subjects really well. Here are a few I attended in 2010.

1 - World Cities - Paris
2 - Made in Britain by Established & Sons with Alice Rawsthorn
3 - World Cities - New York
4 - Creative Leadership with John Maeda
5 - A chat between Christian Boltanski and Hans Ulbrich.

Who do you like to talk to?

On The Table #3

Nothing better than finishing a day with a drink, specially if we have a big and different reason to do so. Cheers!

On The Table #2

Perfect breakfast? Coffee + Bread & Butter.
Indispensable product? A fantastic mug.
- Absolutely nothing can beat these -

Which is your perfect moment in the day?

On The Table #1

Since I got my iPhone early this year I got totally addicted on framing simple moments of my day to post them on my Facebook's profile. It's funny now looking back to all of them and spend a couple of minutes wondering about all these images.

Anyway, I want to finish this year posting here some of my favorite daily images.
