"A designer can never be original. Everything I use or apply comes from the existing world. I simply give it a personal touch but I don’t invent anything. A designer’s greatest achievement is to change the perspective of things a little" – Jurgen Bey

Eli I think your assessment is spot on. This fair was a disappointment in that the 'contemporary' design spanned as always the last century! These two galleries were of the few who had cutting edge NEW design and what spectacular designs they are!

Ok, to further this Art Beef statement for all those galleries that weren't worth looking at: Velvet Chairs??!!! Is this the
design item' de riguer? Are the good-taste-ometers only going off over these things in their various not-quite-saturated-enough colors? Please! And I absolutely loved the fact that all these very pretentious purveyors of 'fine 20th century design' all were sitting at desks that screamed 'I have good taste. I belong here. If you want my opinion or attention you must come to me' One and all were of course 'contemporary' from 1920-30!! Stop with that word! It literally means 'with time' not 40 to 100 years ago!
