The King's Speech & My Favorite Space.

Finally I got the opportunity to watch the well known "King's Speech". Of course the plot, the actresses and actors were my key of interest, though I must say the scenarios were a big curiosity in my imagination.

British movies are always very truthful when in comes to settings. They recreate all that English decadence pretty well - the energy, colors and textures are very touchable.

Lionel's "Consultation Room" is my favorite space in the movie, actually more than the castle. It is a great example of what I want to have in my future apartment: glass roof, wooden panels, wooden floors, big windows and textured walls.

Do you already live in the space you have once imaged?
I wander how many stories a space like this can tell us.

White | Romantic. Gold | Luxurious.

Yesterday I was watching "The World Is Not Enough" (for the thousandth time) looking for inspiration. James Bond's movies always make me wonder about timeless spaces.

Trends come and go but there are a couple of things I'm faithful to (as I said yesterday). Gold and Tulle are indeed two of them. They're both so romantic and luxurious, don't you think? There's always an elegant and innocence vibe in the air...

Here's a few fragments for inspiration.

French Hall And Stairs.

Halls and stairs have been always a very important space for me. The hall is the first space we encounter when the door is opened and the stairs that transition from one to another level.

Here some of my favourite spaces from Coco Chanel's movie, the house of Balsan. Great source of inspiration and dream, if they have different meanings.

We rarely seat or stay in a hall, but like this one, a chair is missing. Seating in front of this amazing French doors, reading a book or even just staring at the view, is just perfect for a Sunday afternoon isn't it?

Mix and match with patterns is the right choice, and always very often found in stair halls.

Maybe because I've been totally inspired by monograms lately, the blazon catches my eye.

Inspired by Casino Royale.

I am a movie lover. To spend an evening watching it (sometimes for the 5th time rewinding my favorite moments) relaxes me, inspires me and teaches me a lot. Sometimes I don’t watch movies just because they’re great stories but because they’ve the best scenarios.

I remember when I was a kid and James Bond was the Sunday afternoon movie (still is actually), I would stare the TV screen making sure I wouldn’t miss one single moment. At the time I didn’t like the most famous secret agent in the world: it was too much fantasy for my own reality, BUT I just couldn’t miss all those beautiful, chic and ultra modern spaces.

Get inspired with the elegance always outstanding is every James Bond movie.

The richness of colours and textures are simply breathtaking.

This is the type of scenario where Roda furniture fits in perfectly.

This is one of my favorite views – love the way space and scale are so beautifully placed. In this image you can feel the textures, colours and light: all perfect.

M’s house: an intellectual, avant garde women whose house is a perfect balance between modern icons and Art Deco touches.

A little moment in the Bahamas which colonial architecture is a statement in a British movie.

Cars, don’t we all love cars?

This image is so powerful, so much details in an almost monochrome background. But the curved line makes it distinct from other pictures.

Little side note: Casino Royale was written after Ian Fleming visit (an enjoyed) the Estoril Casino in Portugal. Back then it was one of the most well known Casinos in Europe.

All the pictures were printed directly from the movie, which I own.
