Tulle. Black. White. Red.

Lately I’ve been quite inspired by tulle. Its texture, transparency, the way it stands, the volume… it’s extremely graceful. Why not to challenge the common use of materials at your home deco?

Curtains in tulle with pearls and croché details.

Wool or tweed cushions.
A jewel: rocking chair by Eames (the wood detail) and/or coffee table by Noguchi. Lips Sofa

Velvet & silk wallpaper.
Console table or chandelier in shinny metal.

Clear glass vases. Plates. Ashtrays. Glasses. Chandelier. Mirrors (without frame). Vintage steel shelving. Frames. Lamps.

Serralves Museum. Porto.

So far I've published only work I've designed and managed. But I find very tempting to post work from other creative people that I truly admire.
So, I’ve decided to add a new label on my blog. Well, actually 3 new labels: architecture, art and photography.
The first because it is part of my life, although I've never wanted to be an architect. I find myself a pure designer.
Photography because I love to spend time with my camera, looking at people and spaces, whether in or outside, waiting for that “perfect” moment which will never be seen again. Photography is very personal to me.
Art because contemporary installations, especially spatial interventions, influence my design.
To celebrate this moment, I publish some of my photographs about architectural details by Álvaro Siza whom I respect very much (yes, he’s Portuguese and yes, I’m extremely patriotic), Richard Serra’s installation and the most beautiful photo I've ever shot, which I call “that boy”.
And all at the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto. A beautiful space to go and stay for a day.
Hope you like it.

Stripe it.

A space in L shape is always quite challenging to style as quite often everything tends to go around the walls. For this specific space, I’ve kept the original colour (beige) and furniture and add orange + gold. The stripes make the room more balanced as it gives some height. The existing furniture was displayed diagonally to make use of the whole space and to let energy to flow more freely.

Painted stripes in coconut colour and orange. Existing client’s furniture. Danish candle stands and vase.
